Our team of volunteers is ready to support you with –
- confidential emotional support for you, your carer and your family
- help with translations
- help with administration for the French Health system
- accompanying you to medical consultations to help with language and ensure your questions are answered fully
- guiding you to essential information
- practical assistance during times of crisis
- a monthly Drop-In or event day
Our Client Support Co-ordinator ensures our Active Listeners receive high quality, ongoing training from Cancer Support France. All our services are provided free of charge. Call our Helpline, leave a message and our Helpline Co-ordinator will call you back promptly.

….. finally I was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Questions flew through my mind. What do I do now? How will I cope? So I phoned CSF and everything, and I mean EVERYTHING, was taken off my hands. Help, information, phone calls, translations, visiting me in hospital, mentors were all taken care of.
My Active Listener and others supported us both endlessly and my husband knew he had back up too. We felt relieved and comforted to know we had this wonderful network at the end of a phone. Nothing has been any trouble. No problem has been too big.
So I would like to relay the message that you never need face cancer alone, and send my thanks to all the members of the team for their patience, kindness, guidance, loan of books, etc… etc…
How You Can Help Us
Become an Active Listener
Our Active Listeners are the main focus of the support we provide to cancer patients. They give confidential support in person at home or in hospital, or on the telephone. No previous experience is needed as full training is given.
Get involved in Fundraising
We cannot provide our services without having funds to meet our costs. We organise events throughout the region on a regular basis, or perhaps you have ideas of your own and would like to run a fundraising event for us.
Help with Publicity
Our Publicity Co-ordinator is always looking for volunteers to raise the profile of our Association by placing posters and leaflets in places where English-speaking people can see them. We also need to post information about our fundraising and social events. We want anyone who needs us to know we are here.
Support us by becoming a Translator
We always need fluent French speakers to help with translation of medical documents and information.
Help with Administration
If you have IT skills you could be of great help to us. We also need help with special projects and the development of our library of information.
Become an Active Volunteer offering Practical Help
We offer practical help to our clients – such as collecting prescriptions, shopping for essentials in times of crisis, and driving to appointments.
